Elaver Debut Photos

Want to see lots of pics from the Elaver Debut?!??
Go to:
http://picasaweb.google.com/elaverwedding

Did you take lots of pics that you would like to share? Email us @ elaver1@gmail.com and we'll give you the info to put your pics into our picassa site.

So far we've posted pictures from Joel Lorberblatt, Tom Lorberblatt, Julie Van Rixel, Molly Reilly, and from our own cameras.

We plan to put together a condensed folder of our faves, but we've only had enough time to look at them and smile all over again.

Need a Hat?

Hats are the only recommended part of the dress code... If you still need one, here's a great local place to shop: The Sacred Feather at 417 State St. Also good for a giggle and photo op. Say hi to Marty if you're there.

One Way Streets

If you're driving in from out of town, get a map of Madison that includes the street directions. Or, better yet, park and walk. Downtown can be easier on foot or by bike.
State St. is a pedestrian shopping stree which connects the Capital building to the UW campus - a lovely walk with great restaurants and window shopping.
Two good terraces to enjoy the view of the lakes: the Monona Terrace (the rooftop garden of a Frank Lloyd Wright building), and the Wisconsin Union Terrace (local beer and live music).

Rain Rain Go Away

If it should be raining at 5pm in Madison this Saturday, then here's the plan:
Just head to the reception site (636 Langdon St.), and we'll have the whole shebang there.
If it's cloudy and rained at 4, so what - we'll be at the Capital...

Wedding Planning

Wedding planning after eloping? Of course - there's celebrating to do!
We are planning for a reception on July 19 in Madison.
The event will also include a small ceremony on the steps of the State Capital. Unfortunately, Capital Police limit such events to 50 people so we're working on that short list (don't take it personally if you're not on it).

Upcoming details on the event and other need-to-know info...

The name game

Anyone familiar with the name change process? If not we'll fill you in.

First, you pay a bunch of money to the court to process your application in triplicate.
Next, you pay a bunch of money to the newspapers to run a notice of your legal name change.
Then, 60 days from your original filing date you see the judge about a rubberstamp on the whole deal.

Our court date will be June second and we will officially be Elavers. That is unless the judge actually reads the newspaper posting and notices that

BOTH OF OUR NAMES WERE SPELLED WRONG!!!
The newspaper clipping posts: Andrea Rose Lorerblatt and: Richard Nelipovichto.
They just forgot the space after his name, but I think the effect is the same.
The whole point of the newspaper thing is that if somebody was looking for you they would be able to find you before your name changed, but lucky for us we remain incognito.

How to pronounce 'Elaver'...

Since 'Hotbeerbrat' is neck and neck with 'Theoretical Boil' we decided not to follow the advice of those voting. But go ahead, keep voting, it makes us laugh.

So back to the name we are actually going to use, Elaver. Pronunciation key: el-uh-ver.

Cheers from the Elavers!
